WhatsApp Birthday Reminders

Quick setup

Sign in to Nudge All. Open Settings, then Notification Settings.
Turn on WhatsApp reminders. Enter your own receiving number in international E.164 format, such as +919876543210. Do not use spaces or a leading zero.
Give explicit consent. Tick the WhatsApp consent box and save. A stored phone number alone never enables messages.
Check the provider. Open Connected Channels. Official automatic delivery requires your account to show CONNECTED.
Add the birthday person. In People & Family, save the person's real name and birthday. When creating the reminder, link that Person and choose Every year.
Select WhatsApp. In Notify me by, choose WhatsApp. The option is enabled only when consent, phone format and provider checks pass.

Which name appears in the message?

Yes - the linked Person's name is automatic. The QA text “Nudge All QA” was synthetic test data only.

birthday_person_name
Comes from the linked People/Family record.

Template variable 2
sender_name
Comes from the Nudge account name, with “Nudge All” as the safe fallback.

Example: if the linked Person is Piyush Sharma, the approved template receives Piyush Sharma - not “Nudge All QA”. If the person's name changes, future linked reminders use the updated name.

Safety and delivery rules

WhatsApp is optional. Push and Email continue independently.
Messages go only to the account number that was explicitly enabled and consented.
The approved template is birthday_warm_en in English. Nudge does not guess or reorder its variables.
One idempotency key is used for each reminder occurrence, so repeated cron runs cannot create duplicate sends.
Done for this year stops the current occurrence only. The next year's Birthday remains scheduled.
Stop yearly reminder is the separate action that ends future Birthday occurrences.
Meta may accept a message and later limit delivery under its messaging policies. Nudge records channel status independently.

Important connection note

Entering a receiving number and giving consent does not create a WhatsApp Business sender. Automatic Cloud API delivery also requires a connected provider for that Nudge account. Nudge never silently assigns another customer's or the owner's private provider connection.

If Connected Channels says NOT CONNECTED, email hello@nudgeall.com. Self-service provider onboarding is being kept separate until the RobotSky tenant onboarding API is verified.
